Kaguya-sama: Love is War
Kaguya-sama: Love is War is a series that’s premise lies in the idea that in the game of love there is a winner and a loser. Or another way I’ve heard it described, one who kisses the cheek and the one who turns the cheek to be kissed. It is about two honor students Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane at the prestigious Shuchi’in Academy who think – I would date that person if they confess to me.
I started this blog because I am over watery high school romance plots so I wasn’t sure about this series at first. I completely binged all the anime and manga for this series over a period of 2 days. Initially, I had added the anime to my crunchyroll watch list and watched the first episode not sure if I would continue but after the second episode I was completely hooked on the story. The way the characters overthink everything is clever and silly. The story also gives you enough progress that you won’t be disappointed. The secondary characters are great too, especially Shinomiya’s maid Hayasaka.
The series is ongoing and has one season of anime and several spin-off manga series. I would recommend this series if you liked the way Ranma and Akane would never tell each other their true feelings in Ranma 1/2 or the banter between Beatrice and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing.
